I havew no USB under devices- how do I make that happen?

Thanks Ckuan-


Wish to insert flash drive (or memory card) and read and show on Desktop

When I attach a flash drive (or Memory card from my Olympus camera) it does not read or appear on desk top.


Previous comments have said go to Finder/scroll to devices and will show USB but USB does not show.


Also go to Finder/Preferences and click on External discs. Does not work either

Given the extensive item list to the left in System Information you can USB to see

any or all items integral to the computer from there. Some portables also show the

touch pad and other hardware (even bluetooth) has affiliation to USB.

You may be able to see a USB item plugged into the port, from within Disk Utility.


Did you try & see if an SMC reset (or NVRAM reset) may help the USB ports re-appear?
