Q: Loading my first music on my ipodnano. Second attempt I got an error message "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it." HELP!

Loaded my first music to my ipod nano. With the help of my daughter-in-law, it was successful. Put a second album on and an error message appeared "The last USB device you connected malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it." Been trying all sorts of things and have had no luck. Please advise.

As a test, shut down (power off) your computer and disconnect all USB devices.  You can leave standard USB keyboard/mouse connected, if used.  If your computer is a laptop, connect its power adapter, so that it's not running on battery power.  Do this to Reset (restart) the iPod

Start up computer, run iTunes, and connect iPod to a direct USB port on the computer, by itself.  Is there any difference when you try to load more songs?
