Q: LOST IPHONE 6 was found

I HAVE JUST RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM noreply@icloudinside.us SAYING THAT MY LOST IPHONE 6 was found at 21:11 PM on April 10, 2016 AND THAT Your iPhone's last reported location will be available for 24 hours, BUT WHEN I CLICK ON VIEW LOCATION and sign in with my icloud account, there is no map or any other info about my lost iphone.

Any suggestions please?

The message was a scam. If you signed in with your Apple ID's credentials then you have given the thieves the information they need to reset the activation lock on your phone and exploit your account by making fraudulent purchases on it. Change your password NOW before they change it for you.

Check under https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ for any unexpected purchases. Note that the domain ends with apple.com. If you prefer you can use the iTunes menu Store > View Account > Purchase History > See All to check on the most recent purchases.

Bummer... your iPhone was not LOST, but rather STOLEN by a ring that had this nefarious system already in place.

It may be possible for your carrier to "blacklist" the phone with IMEI number, rendering it unusable for calling

Mobile operators in some countries even share one database of registered devices, and if a gadget gets blacklisted in such a country, it will be impossible to use it with any local carrier.

If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your missing device

If you didn't turn on Find My iPhone before your device was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate your device. However, you can use these steps to help protect your data:

    1. Change your Apple ID password. By changing your Apple ID password you can prevent anyone from accessing your iCloud data or using other services (such as iMessage or iTunes) from your missing device.
    2. Change the passwords for other internet accounts on your device. This could include email accounts, Facebook, or Twitter.
    3. Report your lost or stolen device to local law enforcement. Law enforcement might request the serial number of your device. Find your device serial number.
    4. Report your lost or stolen device to your wireless carrier. Your carrier can disable the account, preventing phone calls, texts, and data use.

Find My iPhone is the only way that you can track or locate a lost or missing device. If Find My iPhone isn't enabled on your device before it goes missing, there is no other Apple service that can find, track, or otherwise flag your device for you.
