Access iPhoto Library Externally?

Hi,

Would greatly appreciate some advice.

I've an old Macbook that I forgot my password. I'm now attempting to retrieve my files from it, especially photos from iPhoto.

I removed and connected the Macbook harddisk to an another old Macbook Air that am able to access most of the files.

However upon clicking on the iphoto file on the Macbook harddisk an error message pops up: "The iPhoto library is on a locked volume. Reopen iPhoto when you have read/write access, or reopen iPhoto with the Option key held down to choose another library"

Can some some please help?
