Install using Active Directory GPO
By following some of the procedures on appdeploy.com, I've been able to install iTunes 7.0.2.16 using a GPO in Active Directory for my XP Pro clients.
However, I think I may have messed up while editing the MSI/MST files due to lack of documentation because clients have the following problems:
- Performance is slow. It takes 2 minutes to launch iTunes
- About 5 mins after opening, getting error about iTunes trying to change default player for file types
- Running sysinternals Process Monitor shows BUFFER OVERFLOWS in the itunes.exe process
Note- QuickTime 7.1.3.100 installed also via GPO and works correctly
Question: Is there an Apple-approved way of doing this? If so, where is the documentation for the included MSI files?
