Q: Final Cut Pro not updating?

I just uploaded my Macbook air (13 inch mid 2012) to OS X El Capitan version 10.11.4 and I can't update Final Cut. I need FCP for work. When I click on the application itself a screen pops up that says this:

When I go to the app store it brings me straight to the Final Cut Pro screen and when I click "update," it just loads for hours on end and nothing happens. Help!

sorry not to have a simple answer for you. Are you sure your MB Air is actually capable of running FCPX? You might have insufficient space on the drive, insufficient RAM, incompatible graphics, among other things.Be sure to check the minimum system specifications on the Apple FCPX marketing pages.

When you get the latest version loaded;
The newer version of FCP X uses Libraries.
There are certain things that require UPDATING within FCP X for existing Projects to operate correctly.
