You might have insufficient space on the drive, insufficient RAM, incompatible graphics, among other things.Be sure to check the minimum system specifications on the Apple FCPX marketing pages.

The newer version of FCP X uses Libraries.
There are certain things that require UPDATING within FCP X for existing Projects to operate correctly.
