Q: Problem with Favourites and Sync'd Audio

FCPX 10.2.3 (latest I think) on Mac Pro Mid-2010 & MacPro 2010 OSX 10.11.4

I'm having a problem where multiple favourites in a clip are out of sync when added to the timeline.

If you imagine that you had a clip with ten versions of a move / action repeated and a favourite selection for each action, when I try to add any other favourite to the timeline, there is no audio. In some cases, the audio comes in expanded but offset from the video. In either case It appears that the clip is still referring to the originally chosen favourite (the first added to the timeline) and ignoring any subsequent selections.

We shot a series of cilps on a Canon 7D (@ 24fps which actually reads in as 23.976fps) with in-camera sound and second system sound too (3 channels).

I used FCPX sync clip by audio command and was able to match the second system audio perfectly.

These clips are being added to a timeline that's set to 24p and there is an automatic Rate Conform added to the Video tab, set to 'floor' automatically.

If I review the favourites in the event browser, everything is perfect. If I select the broken clip in the timeline and inspect the audio channels in the side tab, the audio is correct there too.

The problem seems to be isolated to the timeline.

For clips that are not expanded, if I do ctrl-s (expand audio video) I can see the audio clip offset to the right and references the first favourite added to the timeline.

I also notice that range selections around favourites persist in the event browser, leaving a gold outline. This causes multiple clips to be added to the timeline when pressing q, w, e.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a workaround or a fix coming? We have a bunch of footage that has been logged, but basically unusable and I'm hesitant to restart this process in case it happens again.
