powerpoint control with iPhone

Hi All,

I have a number of power point presentations that I regularly deliver using my Macbook Air, HDMI cable and my clients wall mounted TV. I use a standard "hand held Clicker" to advance the slides and animations on the presentation.

I've just purchased a new iPad Pro (the smaller one) and was wondering is there a way I could drop the power point presentations onto the iPad (I have already got a 365 account and have installed Powerpoint App on the iPad) and then control the slides and animations from my iPhone (5c)? I have the HDMI connector for the iPad- and I know how to get the files (at least from the cloud) into the iPad (not sure if I could save them to the iPad yet but I can probably work that bit out).

Key to this question is controlling the iPad with the iPhone - linking them somehow and remotely (in the same room) running the presentation without having to carry the iPad around.

When you say that you have an HDMI connector for the iPad - is that a lightning to HDMI?
Also if the answer to the above is yes AND you have an Office 365 account - why bother with the iPad at all? Why not download PowerPoint to your iPhone and run the presentation from there?
Unless you are thinking of walking around the room with your phone using the tethered iPad to drive the presentation

Hi, Yes I'm needing to walk around the room and control the slide progression - so the Ipad will remain hooked up through the HDMI adaptor, through the HDMI cable to the TV.

So connection is iPhone- - (remote)- - - - -IPad--------TV (via HDMI Adaptor and HDMI cable)

The iPad will "host" the presentation and the iPhone will remotely control the slide progression.

Is this possible ?

I thought about using Apple TV hooked up to the TV and just having the Powerpoint on my phone and doing it that way - but there is risk in trying to run the slide show on the phone (small) - using the phone as a remote - with just a couple of "buttons" (Forward, Advance, black screen) seems the way. Plus I then have to carry Apple TV with me - I'm already carrying iPhone and iPad so wanted to keep it to just these two.
