Q: How do I access photos in IMovie for IOS in iPad Pro?

After choosing a movie template and tapping create I cannot seem to open photos to select in the editing page. First videos show but there seems to be no way to switch to photos. The only way seems to be tapping on the word photos in the instructions, then my list of albums is finally displayed in the column to the right. However, when I tap a photo album iMovie completely locks up and I have to close out the app and restart. I am new to iMovie, and just trying to figure it out, but so far, selecting photo (or even video) seems to be dysfunctional. Any direction or advice would be appreciated.

A:

You might try checking to see if your iPad is set to 'Standard' or 'Zoomed' in Settings > Display + Brightness. Some other people on here have mentioned that If it's set to Zoomed, switching it to Standard seems to fix similar problems accessing the media section.

Sounds like you are doing it right, but there is a bug preventing you from accessing the file. Could be a system memory thing or compatibility with a particular file. You can let the developers know here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/imovie_ios.html

Thanks for the response. The process did work when I turned the iPad to portrait orientation, but was not working in landscape. Since I am new I was unsure if this was normal, however, I do not see any info stating functions in iMovie requiring portrait orientation to work. I will post a mention to developers, thanks for the tip.

The Zoom setting is exactly what what the problem was. I didn't realized I had the zoom setting on and it makes perfect sense that Zoom might impede this function in iMovie.
