Sync error

Each time I connect my Ipod touch to Itunes, it starts to do a sync. The sync freezes, has deleted all my album artwork and has made it so 20 Gigs of my music is unplayable. The music shows that it is there, but an exclamation point appears when I attempt to play the song and it won't play. I have the manually manage music icon checked as I have painstakingly ripped all my CD's and converted all my vinyl to mp3.

I just want my music playable and don't want to have to re-copy it all to the Ipod every time the Ipod tries this sync. I have purchased lots of music from Itunes as well so I need all that music to mesh with my previously purchased ripped music.

Anyone have any idea how I can get all my music and album artwork to start working again?

iPod touch, iOS 9.3.1

Try:

- http://www.mcelhearn.com/deleting-the-itunes-album-artwork-cache-folder-may-reso lve-problems-with-album-art-displaying/

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync/delete all music and resync

To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I've reset the device, I've reset the settings. I won't delete the music. It took me over a week to put it all on there the 1st time. The music shows, just won't play. I'm not going to do the back-up and restore, because I believe this will be extremely time consuming with the same repeating error. I have not tried the uninstall and reinstall of itunes yet, but the rest has not been fruitful unfortunately. Thanks for the help. I will try the uninstall for Itunes. Crossing my fingers.
