Mac Mini Pink Flash on Startup

MAc Mini 2012 i7 16Gb 1TB (Purchased May 2013)

MY old faithful Mac Mini seems to have a problem.

When I startup the Mac Mini I see a pink flash on the screen (NOT PINK LINES THAT FLASH, this pink happens on a section of the screen) for just a second then nothing, just a blank screen.

I tried starting it back up and holding the shift key, nothing happened- just a blank scree. Then I tried holding down the Alt key on startup - again all I see is a blank screen.

DOes anyone have a clue what is happenin? It still has 3 weeks AppleCare left.

Try another monitor and cable to rule those out.

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

About NVRAM and PRAM

- Try starting in Safe Mode. Yes, again after doing the above

OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

- Boot to Recovery and repair the startup disk

OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support

- If it is repairable reinstall the OSX

How to reinstall OS X on your Mac - Apple Support

- If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.

Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX

If still problem, quickly make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
