Photos for MacAirplay is not supported on 2010 iMacs per Use AirPlay to display video from your Mac on an HDTV - Apple Support, are you sure you have a 2010 iMac?? If you are not, please click the Apple symbol in the upper left of the display and then click About this Mac.

thanks for the response. I am using Airplay only for audio to an Apple TV. It was working fine for many years until today.

Once again, if you have a 2010 iMac you never had Airplay. Please review the system requirements for Airplay. Perhaps you were using something else to transmit audio on your 2010 iMac, but I can assure you it was not Airplay!
