Black screen white apple nothing else

I Have an iPad that was recharged over night and the result is a black screen with the white appl flashing slowly. I cannot reset, restore, erase or do anything to fix the issue. I connected to iTunes to no avail.

Any thoughts about how I can get past this?

The latest version of iTunes is 12.3.3 - check yours since the Windows updater doesn't always work and you have to manually download the version.

Try this recovery mode method:

1. Open iTunes

2. Connect iPad

3. Press both home and lock buttons for up to 1 minute until Apple logo reappears

4. Continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes detects the iPad in recovery mode

5. Proceed with restore.

Note, if nothing happens when pressing both home and lock buttons, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple

Mom2lola...I'm not sure if this will help...but I was able to get my Ipad into Recovery mode after watching this Youtube video:

It demonstrates how to properly get your Ipad into Recovery mode. After reading the instructions on how to do it...I was doing it slightly wrong. When I followed the way it was done in the Youtube video...I was at least able to get into Recovery mode. I am currently attempting to update the IOS in Recovery Mode. Hopefully that will solve the issues for me. Good luck!
