Q: Final Cut Pro X "buy app" button doesn't work

Hi everybody!

This is my first post to the Apple Community forum so I hope I did everything right

I have a huge problem: I want to purchase Final Cut Pro X, but when I click on the button to buy the app, nothing happens and the app won't be listed among my "purchased applications". The "dotted circle" in the upper left corner appears and the letters on the button turn from white to grey (so the app store must have noticed my clicking) but there's no more response than that.

I already bought iTunes gift cards worth €300 and I really need to use FCPX for a project (especially since I started cutting the project in iMovie and need to export it to an application with more functions) but the app won't download.... can anybody help me?

I'm currently running OS X 10.10 Yosemite (but downloading El Capitan right now, in case the outdated OS is the problem source) on a 2008 MacBook. 2 x 2GB RAM, 2 GHz processor, SSD drive, late 2008 MacBook (first aluminium generation). I have no problems with other up to date software whatsoever...

Another thought: If the problem was the operating system, why doesn't it at least show any error?

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

2008? Does it meet all system requirements including graphics card? If so contact the App Store.

Thanks for your replies! It's actually the 13" MacBook, but I put in 4GB of RAM a couple of years ago, so that should be fine.

Actually the installation worked by now, after installing El Capitan, but now I have a problem with running the application. It gets stuck at the splash screen.... any ideas?

PPlease go ve complete specs. The graphics card is keen in the application. It has to be minimum specs and be Open CL capable.
