one monitor for two macs

i have an iMac with a second thunderbolt monitor. will I be able to connect a MacBook Pro to that same thunderbolt monitor without having to disconnect from the iMac? Both computers WILL NOT be used at the same time.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

You can connect the display's Thunderbolt and MagSafe cables to the MacBook Pro. If the MacBook Pro is new you may need an adapter:

(If the display is new, Apple may have included the adapter in the box.)


You will have to buy a Thunderbolt cable to connect the iMac to the back of the display.
