Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your screenshot that Disk Utility is reporting you have 800GB of Apps, but your HDD is only 250GB. To get started troubleshooting I suggest that you reindex the Macintosh HD in Spotlight. Follow the steps in the support article linked to below for these steps:
