Apr 12, 2016 8:05 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby Debatedumail,Hi Carolyn
thanks for your suggestion... Unfortunately it hasn't helped.
I'm guessing since I did not get the chance to de-authorise the iPod from my old computer it isn't able to be used from a new device. The old computer which it used to sync with is completely disabled.
I connected it to the computer than launched iTunes. It simply does not detect it.
The iPod was in perfect working condition prior to the computer dyeing.
any more ideas?

Apr 13, 2016 10:31 AM in response to Debatedumailby Kenichi Watanabe,There is no "registration" process for iPods. It should appear in iTunes when connected, even if it's on a new computer.
When you connect the iPod, watch the iPod's screen. Does it say "Connected" or "Do not disconnect" or give other indication that it is connected to the computer? Or does it only show the battery charging symbol? Or does it not react at all to being connected?
