If i uploaded my PC's iTune Library to ITune Match, can I then delete all songs from my iTune PC (to free up space) and still have access to all the songs from the cloud?

I am interested in freeing space and protecting my years of old cd's that I have purchased and are not available to buy in the iStore. I therefore subscribed to iTunes Match..Now that my library is going to be uploaded to a cloud, does that mean I can erase all the songs from my iTune library on my PC and still access them from the cloud? Or will erasing it from my PC's iTune Library also erase it from the cloud as iTunes constantly scans my computer?

Yes, you can erase it. Yes, you'll continue to have access to your music via iTunes Match.

NO, it is NOT a good idea to erase your local iTunes Library. You should at least keep a backup copy of the library on an external drive. Make the backup BEFORE you enable iTunes Match. iTM might not be be able to correctly match all your tracks and make unwanted substitutions.
