Macbook Pro gets hot and freezes, impossible to restart

Since a couple of weeks my MacBook Pro (OS X El Capitan 10.11.4) freezes once a day. It seems it is heating (I hear the fan) before crashing. When I try to restart, it doesn't restart immediately, I have to wait a couple of minutes before it accepts to restart. Any idea?

Thanks

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Sounds like a process or application is using a lot of processing power with the CPU which causes the computer to appear unresponsive. Increased CPU activity is expected to increase the temperature of the CPU which causes an increase in fan speed. Which applications are you using when this happens?
