I did the hard reset, pressing down both buttons. Once the apple logo is gone, touching the screen only shows the message. Doesn't do anything with the two buttons. Pressing dial 3 times did bring up the voice over options, but didn't help with the message. I was trying to pair with my iphone prior to having to do hard reset.

Solved my issue: Held dial button till option came up to Reset, touch and hold reset on the screen. After this it fully reset and got me back to pairing screen.

Have you tried to continue setup on the iPhone, within the Watch app?

The watch is on, but I can't do anything on the watch. I can't get to the pair screen, it used to show up options like picking languages then the pairing screen. When I turn it on it just shows "Please continue setup on Iphone". I can't do anything else at this point.
I can't do this as the app says to pair first before I can update. I can't pair because the Watch is stuck on the message mentioned before.
