Depends on what version of OSx and Safari you are running.
Generally speaking Safari updates with the OS. but there may be intermediate updates you can get.
First, try going to the Apple Menu->Software Update option and see if there are any system updates available, that may include one for Safari.
If nothing shows up there, you may need to update your OSx version. Go to The Apple Menu->About This Mac and tell us what mode year MacBook Pro you have exactly.
You can also check the following link and see if your MacBook Pro can update to El Capitan directly.
http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
If you find out you cannot update, you may need to get a different browser that can run on your version of OSx and is still up to date.
Those messages may be tied to the website and could be popup ads designed to make you click on what they want.
To make sure Safari is updated, open the App Store and click on Updates. If it says you are up to date then Safari is updated.
It could be that you need a Flash update. To update Flash, go to > System Preferences > Flash Player > Updates > Check Now
Or you can go straight to Adobe's website to get the update: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

You update Safari by updating your operating system. What OS are you running right now? For example, I have 10.11.4, and thus use Safari 9.1, the most current version.
