Q: Two-step verification trusted devices

I've got an iPhone, Macbook Pro and two iPods. I've turned on two-step verification and and given the number of my iPhone but the verification code comes through to either of the iPads or my iPhone. I only want it to come through to my iPhone but can't find a way of making that happen. Any ideas please?

Thanks

I think you actually have two-factor authentication, not the older two-step verification.

Here is a link to information on the newer one that I believe you have: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

With the previous two-step, you would be given the option of which device to send the code to. With the newer two-factor, a code goes out to all of your trusted devices.

I think you could be right, probably got my self a bit confused with the two. So is there no way that I can get the code sent just to my iPhone?

I thought I had two-step verification on too but don't remember getting a recovery code and certainly there's no where on my account page where I can generate a new one as apparently I should be able to.

Sorry - seem to have got myself in a right old confused state here!!

Re the confusion -- with the name of the newer two-factor authentication similar to the older two-step verification and their purpose being the same, you aren't alone in confusing them. With the newer system I'm not aware of any way of specifying where the code goes -- it goes to all trusted devices. This surprised me at first as I was used to the older system where it asked each time. The newer system doesn't need to ask and I don't see any downside.
