Q: How to update iOS 5.1.1 iPad 1st Generation

HOw do I update OR upgrade iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 8? Most apps I choose to download or install fail with a message saying that I need to update to ios7 or higher..

You can update no further than iOS 5.1.1 on an iPad 1st generation.

It can't be updated past 5.1.1. If desired, download the current versions of those applications to a computer or newer iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions.
