Q: iPad Pro 9.7 Random Restart

Normally wouldn't think much of this but, I have a 2 day old iPad Pro 9.7 128GB that has restart on me twice so far. In the middle of using it, it will cut to the Apple logo on the black background for a minute before returning to the passcode screen. Oddly enough, it will accept Touch ID in place of a passcode, something it doesn't usually do when it loses power. Any idea on the cause or how to figure it out? I chatted with the tech support but they only help they could provide was to do a restore. I just performed it, but my concern is that I installed an app or enabled something causing the iPad to crash and it'll simply continue to do that due to the bad app.

Ok folks, I have to post this: no crash since 4/28 (my last post). What changed since then was I unchecked, in Safari prefs, "Open Tabs in background"

With this on, pages were opening in background and if not paying attention I'd have numerous pages just sitting there over time. Now pages open as tabs in the Tab bar.

See if you have this checked and if crashes are eliminated by unchecking it.

Now I've probably jinxed myself and a crash is just around the corner

I don't use safari except when it defaults to safari and I still have crashes. I shut off the open in background and will see if this helps.

I Checked that out, but it just means when you open a new tab, it opens in front of your other pages instead of behind them.  Since I only keep a few tabs open at a time, I don't think it will help my crashes.....

I am having the same issues as everyone else. I had an iPad Air with no issues, I upgrade to iPad Pro 9.7 and it springboard resets every day. I tried the safari open new tabs in background tip and it didn't help. I hope this gets fixed soon, it's really dissappointing upgrading from an iPad that worked perfectly to a new one that crashes daily.

Come on Apple, this is my 5th iPad, I'm at my 5th iPhone and at my 10th Mac computer, at least, not counting all the software purchases. And now my latest purchase , the iPad Pro 9'7", 128 GB, LTE, grey, randomly reboots so oftten that it almost gets unusable ????????????

Unichecking the open tabs in the background doesn't fix it for me either. I'm also using 9.3.2 Beta 4 and it is still occurring, so unfortunately this may go on for a while. How annoying considering I upgraded my iPad Air which had no issues, to the brand new 9.7 Pro which resets multiple time per day. It does seem to be when switching apps though. I don't experience it just using apps.

After 4 days crash free I just had one while reading your post. I have submitted bug reports to apple. I am hoping for a fix soon.

I will say that the new 9.3.2 Beta 4 is better. It used to crash at least twice per day, now it seems that 3-5 days can go by before it happens and it only happens that one time and it will be fine for another set of days. It's still happening though, makes me wonder why it's better but also why it still happens. I am also submitting a bug report every time it happens with the hope that it will help get a fix.

I have been submitting bug reports every time also. Hopefully with enough people submitting bug reports about this it will get fixed soon. I think a lot of people are having issues because over 4500 have looked at this thread.

I Literally read your post from mail, went to safari, used app switcher to go back to mail and it crashed. I wanted to see if what you said could be replicated and it was immediately replicated. I tried to replicate again, and no luck. I've tried switching from safari, back to mail, many times since then and it doesn't crash. I'm not sure how or why this happens but it's not easily replicated, but it obviously does happen.
