CD-Rom not reading audio/data CD

I was listening to music from a CD i just bought when the CD/DVD drive started spitting out the CD.
I tried other audio CD and had same problems along with some other data CDs.

When I tried movie DVDs, I had no problems.

It's causing the trouble with only audio CDs and some data CDs, I guess.
Fortunately, I got to reinstalled the OS X and bundled package but I cannot insatall any other software CDs because the CD/DVD drive is rejecting them.

Do you guys have any ideas of what's the problem, besides that I might have to replace the CD/DVD drive? 😟
My laptop is only a year old and I rarely used CD/DVD drive.

if your computer is still under an AppleCare Warranty then I would suggest taking your computer in for service, because it sounds like you have a bad optical drive, if it isn't under warranty then I would suggest buying an external firewire drive, as the internal and external drives are about the same price, plus with an external "SuperDrive" a drive that burns DVDs, you will get more out of the drive than an internal drive. It will burn faster in every respect.
