Q: Share photos unmodified?

In Apple Photos, is there a way of sharing the original photo unmodified?

I have a photo in my photos which I then add to a shared folder. When I click Get info on them, or check them on the file system, or export original, they appear to be different sizes. The two images are the same dimensions and look the same, but I'm worried they are being modified in some way. e.g.

Shared albums have a size limit on the dimensions of the photos, Owen. Photos can have upto 2048 pixels on the long edge, panoramic photos up to 5400 pixels.

They will be shared in a reduced size, if the original pixel size is larger than the allowed maximum size.

See this link:  iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ - Apple Support

Which photo and video formats and sizes does iCloud Photo Sharing support?

iCloud Photo Sharing supports JPEG, TIFF, PNG, and most RAW photo formats. When shared, photos taken with standard point-and-shoot cameras, SLR cameras, or iOS devices will have up to 2048 pixels on the long edge. Panoramic photos can be up to 5400 pixels wide.

iCloud Photo Sharing supports both MP4 and QuickTime video file types, and H.264 and MPEG-4 Video file formats. Videos can be up to 5 minutes in length and are delivered at up to 720p resolution.

If you need to share photos in the original size, mail them using Mail drop or similar.

Or put them into a DropBox.
