Using an iPhone 6 with Verizon, when on a call, unable to use the web or check email.

Using an iPhone 6, when on a call, unable to use the web or check email. Carrier is Verizon and thought calling and data were two different functions. Can both be used at the same time, and if so how?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.2

Most of the time, yes. If you're connected to WiFi, there should be no problem. If you are not connected to WiFi, you'll need to meet the following criteria: 1) Have Advanced Calling enabled on your account. Call Verizon if you're not sure. 2) Have voice over LTE enabled on your phone. Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data Options>Enable LTE>Voice & Data. 3) You will need to be on an LTE part of the network (most of Verizon).
