Q: Apple Pay

Hello, I've just upgraded to the iPad Pro....smaller version.While setting it up, I wanted to set up Apple Pay, of course to verify they send a text message, but it is not coming through to my phone, The number on my account is only a landline number as they ask for an area code, also nowhere to put a mobile number. Now I know there's a logical answer to this, but I'm rubbish at logic...any ideas? Thank you.
