Apr 14, 2016 7:44 AM in response to sigep174by Limnos,Apple hasn't issued a statement as to why they are discontinuing allowances. Presumably it has something to do with the bottom line somewhere as that tend to be the underlying reason why for-profit companies do anything.

Apr 14, 2016 8:38 AM in response to Limnosby sigep174,I figure it is something like that as well, but usually the costs are on the front end with very little needed for maintaining a solution like this. It is a weird situation and another mistake by Apple in my opinion.

Apr 14, 2016 6:11 PM in response to sbermanby sigep174,The thing I liked about Allowance is that it was up to them how they spent their money and it was limited to a set amount. "Ask to Buy" means that I have to actively track who is spending what and how much. I try and give me kids some freedom to make decisions on their own.
Sorry, but Apple dropped the ball on this one. And I feel pretty good that I am not the only parent annoyed by this development.
