This article might help to troubleshoot speaker problems on the iPhone:
This worked for me thanks to r850723 1) have someone call you, 2) turn on to speaker mode, 3)turn off the speaker, 4) plug in your headphone, 5) un-plug headphone. This should work!
I had the same problem and contacted Apple Support via Chat. A helpful guy took me through a process to force a software download via iTunes. It cleared a dodgy bug in my software and fixed the problem.
This absolutely fixed my problem after following all the other advice and nothing worked!!! Thank you
Hi,
I too faced same issue recently and somehow able to resolve it. Please try below steps : -
1) Clean your headphone jack(small round hole beside of charger point) with earbud. Insert earbud and try to revolve in circular direction 8-10 time. Hopefully it will work. If not follow 2 step.
2)Take one needle and try to clean connector(golden ball) inside headphone jack(This works for me)
Basically this happens due to dust or carbon or when headphone jack connector(golden ball) stucks.
Hope my answer will help you to resolve your issue.
Thanks
go into your settings to change the accessibility , then go to call audio routing, then switch it to speaker, then make a call. After switching to "make a call" it will change the settings to automatic.

THis actually solved my issue!
THanx a gazillion!
I was in the same situation. Dropped my phone in water
but immediately took it out. Dried it off with a towel and
the speakers just would not default out of headphone mode.
The only thing that remedied the issue was putting it
in Airplane mode for about 30 seconds and the problem
was resolved.
I had this same problem
Here are things you can do
1. Restart the devise
2. Use a q tip (take off most of the cotton) and just try to clean it out as best you can (the headphone/audio jack)
3. Try using a hairdryer on high all around the jack, until the I pad gets considerably warmer
4. Blow into it, try not to spit into it
5. Suck as hard as you can on the jack
6. Have someone facetime/call you. This will make it so you can hear them and they can hear you. Then end the call and see if it still happens
Number 3 is the one that worked for me
I really hope this helps, I know the pain and it only happened to me for an hour. Please ask me any question or clarifications you have. Good luck
I tried everyyyything suggested, and this was the only thing that worked for me!
