I need to set up my CanoScan Lide 60 to the new update software OS X El Capitan. It recognises the device but I have no connection or start up.
There are suggestions for older software versions, is there one for OS X El Capitan?

Your scanner is ancient and no longer supported by Canon. The Lide 60 was supported through OS X 10.4. El Capitan is OS X 10.11. I had to replace my Lide scanner, as well.
However, I think 8 years working perfectly well is some kind of record.
And actually, I could have kept it limping along . . .
But I got a new Canon All-inOne, and everything is SO easy, and So fast! I'm thrilled.
And the Canon Pixma cost less than the scanner costs years ago.
Thank You, this has done the trick the scanner is now kicking into life and working. Hopefully won't need to but a new scanner with every software update though.
