Does the second iMac in Display Mode just act as a mirror to the first Mac or is it a second monitor doubling your horizontal resolution? I want to drag apps to a second screen when I'm doing Windows Dev work.

target display mode don't work in windows
a normal monitor connected to the thunderbolt port would allow you to extend the desktop to both monitors also in windows though that is my setup in both osx and windows7-8-8.1-10
As the subject says Target Display mode is on the iMac running osx. I want to extend my Windows iMac to the one running osx.
Purely for aesthetic reasons I would rather have a second iMac in display mode instead of a second monitor.

I've read the mechanics of how its connected.. My question was does it act as a mirror or extend the Windows desktop like a dumb external monitor would. Rudegar more or less answered the question but he was referring to how Windows uses external displays and not having specifically tried it with an extra iMac.
