Q: What about those of us who paid for QuickTime Pro?

That's fine and dandy that Apple is encouraging Windows users to uninstall QuickTime, but.........

Unfortunately, it means I'll have to update my iTunes version 9 in order to continue to view my current music videos and thereby lose the Cover Flow feature which they deprecated from newer versions.

And what about those of us who paid for QuickTime Pro, like myself?

I think Apple should at least provide us with App Store credit, since they no longer offer a replacement for it.

Windows PC, Windows 10, 2.4Ghz Quad Core, 4Gb RAM

QuickTime Player version 7 was released nearly 11 years ago and it still works just fine.

Apple is ending development of version 7 and the only version that is being updated is version 10 which is OS X only software.

Apple does not give refunds on downloadable software purchases.

Since Apple knew about this but continued to sell it, I bought it less than a week ago, I want a refund.  Fortunately I can still contact my credit card company and direct them to not pay Apple

Anytime you buy something the onus is always on that buyer. You bought an eleven year old product and there is nothing wrong with it.

Apple sold version 3, (4 was free to me on a Mac), 5, 6 and 7. Each upgrade cost me about $30 and I was fine with that.

But the handwriting was on the wall and I suspected Apple wasn't going to spend more money on a Windows version and would also create a new version for OS X users. Apple introduced QuickTime X (ten) as a Mac OS product (only) and it included new features not found in version 7 and that is where Apple is investing resources and development.

You can still buy a 2005 car. How is this any different?

Apple will probably refund you if you just ask.
