Homekit Device Names and control with Siri

Hi There,

I'm using my iPhone with Homekit enabled devices, but having trouble to make Siri understand the device names. Is there any list of correct device names available?

You are in total control of the names that are assigned to HomeKit devices and Siri uses those names when you issue commands. For example:

If you have a light dimmer and you assigned it a name "Master Bedroom Lights" any of the following should work.

"Turn on the master bedroom lights."

"Set the brightness of the master bedroom lights to 30%."

"Set the master bedroom lights to 50% brightness."

"Set the dim level of the master bedroom lights to 70%"

"Set the master bedroom lights to off."

You can also group sets of devices in to Zones. So if you have a zone called "All Bedroom Lights" that included all the lights for all the bedrooms you could say, "turn off all bedroom lights."

Now, since you grouped all the bedrooms in a zone called "All Bedroom Lights" if you said, "turn off all the bedroom lights" Siri would give you an error since it does know recognize a zone call, "All The Bedroom Lights."

So be careful with your naming and be precise when issuing Siri commands using the names you assigned.
