Q: Back to My Mac: Inconsistently Requires Passwords
I use Back to My Mac regularly, but I'm concerned about screen sharing security. Here's what's happening: when I remotely access my iMac's screen, I'm always required to enter the computer password, just as if I were sitting in front of it. That's good. But when I access my Mac Mini, I don't need to enter the computer password. I just sail right through to the desktop, past the login screen, even if I lock the computer beforehand. The same is true for my Macbook Pro. It frightens me that anyone with my iCloud password could access those computers at any time, without entering computer passwords.
Clearly I'm missing something. I've read Apple's Back to My Mac security page, but nothing there does the trick; those things are the same on each computer. I've compared settings side-by-side and everything looks the same in Security & Privacy and Users & Groups. What is going on?
