Lately when I'm moving photos from my iphone I've noticed that with each photo there is an aee file (ie. IMG_5555.aee). This wasn't happening before. How do I prevent this from happening? These files take space!

Did you mean aae? AAE files contain editing information for the photos. If you have edited the photos using the native app, aee files are created as sidecar files. In order to transfer the edits you would have to import the photos instead of copying them to your computer.

I use Mac's Image Capture to Import the photos and still end up with separate AAE files. Would prefer to Import so as not to need/or have a separate file. Advice?
I do not like Apple's Photos app on the Macbook.
Sorry, I do not have any good advice to offer. I don't particularly like the Photos App on my MBP either. For photos I use a PC with Windows 10.
