Q: WIFI sync and Airplay not available since update

I updated my iPhone 6 Plus and (iPhone 5s running the same) to iOS 9.3.1 and since then, there is no Airplay option on my iPhones UNTIL Bluetooth is enabled.

Since I purchased Apple TV in Dec 2015 (32GB version 9.2 (13Y234) Model A1625 with Airplay enabled on the Apple TV of course it has worked seamlessly on WIFI until Wednesday this week.

On the same day, My MAC running OSX El Captain Version 10.11.4 no longer has the option to connect to Airplay. When I open the Preferences, Airplay shows as 'Off' however the dropdown menu does not offer an 'On' option.

Bouncing ALL the devices changes nothing. Bluetooth is enabled on the MAC however never needed Bluetooth to connect to Airplay before.

Anyone else experiencing Airplay and WIFI sync issues this week? Am I missing something?

Thanks

AppleTV 2, iOS 9.3.1, MAC and iPhone 6Plus and iPhone 5

    Hi Team,

It sounds like your ATV is now on a different wifi network from your other devices. It will then support peer-to-peer AirPlay (Use AirPlay to wirelessly stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support) with discovery over bluetooth. What else changed on Wednesday? You can check the ATV network in the ATV network settings, and of course you can check the wifi the phones are using.  Have you recently updated to tvOS 9.2, or did you do that last month when it came out?  Just for reference, your ATV A1625 is version 4, not 2 as indicated in your trailer. HTH

I'm sorry, I just realized you updated your phones to iOS 9.3.1 to trigger the problems. There have been some other AirPlay issues with this combo, but yours still sounds like it's using peer-to-peer. Maybe the newer systems are fussier in this regard. I'm using iOS 9.3.1 and tvOS 9.2, and have no trouble connecting over AirPlay.
