Q: How do I export to Quicktime with transparent background?

I'm exporting my Keynote animation as a Quicktime movie which I will import into photoshop and then export and animated GIF that I will place on a web page. The challenge I'm having is exporting my Keynote with a transparent background. I have set the background to a color with zero transparency but then the background just turns black and remains throughout the process. I looks like older versions of Keynote had the option to include transparency when exporting to Quicktime so I'm hopeful there is still a way!

THANKS!

To create a video with an alpha channel:

On the master slide:   View > Edit Maser slide  > Inspector > Format > Master Slide Layout  > in the Background dropdown menu, select:  No Fill

In Quicktime export:   File > Export Quicktime > in the Format dropdown menu select; custom > then select Apple Pro Res 444

This only works with certain transitions and certain builds.   For example you cannot export a transparent magic move transition.  The video will render with a black background.  You will have to experiment with the different transitions and builds to find out which ones work.
