I can't seem to take my photos from my iMac photo app to make a book. Help

No idea since you provide no information except that you have a problem
and you can no longer order any print products from iPhoto so there is not a lot of point in figuring it out anyway - you need to upgrade to El Captain OS X 10.11.4 and Photos 1.5 if you want to create print projects

Apple stopped the development of iPhoto and at the end of march it stopped also the print service for iPhoto and Aperture.
Export the photos you want to use for a book from iPhoto and import them to the new Photos for Mac application. Then create your book in Photos for Mac. See this Help page on how to use Photos for Mac: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/
Alternately create the book in iPhoto, save the the book as a PDF file, and upload the PDF to Presto Photo. They can print iPhoto Books.
