My Iphone 6S won't download App updates

I found instructions to go to Settings then ITunes & App Store then at the top there is Apple ID: email address, tap on that address, etc. But when I go to that screen my email address is grayed out and I can't tap on it. I went to my Apple ID account and it shows it is connected to my Iphone. What do I need to do? Right now I can't use Facebook, Messenger or Starbucks apps because they are all grayed out showing "Waiting" I know I changed my Apple ID password last week or the week before thru my laptop, did not realize it messed up stuff on my phone. Sorry, this is my first Iphone and I am still very confused about all the difference accounts needed for Apple ID, I Cloud, etc.

The apps are waiting because there is an update that is holding them up.

First go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and make sure that you do not have Updates turned on under Automatic Downloads. If you do, turn it off.

Then try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, tap on the App Store icon, then on Updates. Tap on the items that have updates available one at a time to update them.
