How to switch off iBooks from opening books automatically?

When I drag a book into iBooks it seems to open them automatically.

How do I switch this off? It seems to open books every time on my wife's computer but mine doesn't.

Thanks!

Yeah, no problem. I tested it out as I was curious myself and was dealing with iBooks/iCloud issues at the time. Generally dropping stuff on an icon or doing an "Open with..." contextual is going to open the document itself, but dragging files onto an open library whether it's iBooks or iTunes or Photos etc is going to be an "add to Library" kind of action. Cheers. 🙂
