When I drag a book into iBooks it seems to open them automatically.
How do I switch this off? It seems to open books every time on my wife's computer but mine doesn't.

Its very annoying that every time i drop a PDF or ebook into ibooks it opens up the book automatically.

Drop it on the open iBooks library window, not on the icon. Dropping on the Icon seems to want to open the document.
Thanks so much. I didn't think there would be a difference as I always drag books into iBooks directly. Seems my wife drag into its icon instead. Thanks for resolving the issue! 🙂
Yeah, no problem. I tested it out as I was curious myself and was dealing with iBooks/iCloud issues at the time. Generally dropping stuff on an icon or doing an "Open with..." contextual is going to open the document itself, but dragging files onto an open library whether it's iBooks or iTunes or Photos etc is going to be an "add to Library" kind of action.
