Q: There's an error signing into my Apple ID while running the OS X Recovery Mode

OS X El Capitan couldn't be installed even after numerous attempts. Visited Apple website. Got to know about OS X Recovery Mode. Tried running the entire process as described on the website. But couldn't sign into my Apple ID. "There's an error connecting to the Apple ID server" is the message. The email ID is correct and so is the password. But couldn't figure out a way around it.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

    Hello mumbaichimulgi,

If you are getting an error regarding your Apple ID and password, this would need to be resolved before you can try to install OS X El Capitan.   If you go to the appleid.apple.com website, and type your Apple ID (which is an email address) and your password, are you able to access your account?  Another test would be to go to www.icloud.com and type in the same information.

Manage your Apple ID account information

Once you have absolutely confirmed this is working, check the Applications folder on your Mac and remove any instances of the OS X El Capitan Installer that you see.

Then download El Capitan from the Mac App Store again.

Upgrade to OS X El Capitan

Please reply with more information once you have tried these steps.

    Take care,
