Q: does my truly  HIGH QUALITY iTunes library in ALAC/AIFF stay with me if i use iTunes Music and the iCloud Library?

answer my question above please

it's insulting to me to claim that 256kbps os "high quality' it is scholock why do i need iTunes except for my iTunes personal library when by using TIDAL/amarra for tidal ROON LABS/hqplayer&TIDAL and Qobuz/amarra sq+ i have access to ALAC/AIFF/FLAC and HiRez recordings even from my current iTunes lrary of >1000 cd's and over 30000 songs and hundreds of playlists

Why don't you schmucks stream or offer aiff/alac/flac

The "schmucks" you are addressing here are users like yourself who respond on this forum to polite questions.

Apple Music and Match are 256k aac.  If you want AIFF sync your iPhone to iTunes.

Bob, I assume your question is "does my truly  HIGH QUALITY iTunes library in ALAC/AIFF stay with me if i use iTunes Music and the iCloud Library?"

Yes your library stays with you.  It will be right there on your local drive and any backups that you have.  However, the matched or uploaded copies in the cloud will be AAC/256.

If you want the copies in the cloud to maintain the encoding and bit rate of your local copies, use a cloud service that stores the actual files instead of matched or transcoded copies.
