Q: with Mail v4.6 on OS 10.6.8  I have lost the menu strip above the email in order to Send it out.

with Mail v4.6 on OS 10.6.8  I have lost the menu strip above the email in order to Send it out. There is no Send icon that would appear in the strip in a good working instance.

With a new e-mail open, go to Mail/View/Customize Toolbar and drag the Send icon into the toolbar above the e-mail.
