Q: unable to create a bootable disk of OS X El Capitan

Has anyone have an issue with creating a bootable usb disk from OS X El Capitan? I keep getting the following error:

sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/ElCapInstaller --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app --nointeraction

Erasing Disk: 0%... 10%...

Error erasing disk error number (-69888, 0)

A error occurred erasing the disk.

I have followed the instructions and the usb is an 8 gig usb stick so I know I have enough space. Has anyone else have this problem? And if you were able to resolve how did you do that?

Thanks in advance.
