output is being recording onto the audio track!! Please help!!

So basically, in both Logic X and Garaband this issue is happening.

When recording on an audio track, anything other sound playing is being recorded onto the track.

Right now, I have my mic UNPLUGGED, the volume of headphones and speakers/monitors is completely turned off.
If i arm the audio track and press record - any other track with music on it, or even just the click playing - is recorded ONTO that track.

What the heck is going on?

ANYONE.

I am going just bonkers over here.

thanks

GarageBand must be recording using your internal microphone, if even the key clicks are recorded.

Check, if your preferences for Input and Output in the System Preferences are matching the preferences in GarageBand > Preferences > Audio. I keep the preferences set in GarageBand to "System Settings". This way I have only to check them in one place.

If theSystem Preferences do not recognize the microphone or the headphones as plugged in, it will always default to the internal microphone and internal speakers, and they may be enabled, even if you think you switched to your devices.
