Q: Troubles with migration of my photos library

I migrated my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Air through time capsule most things transferred without a hitch, but my Photos library will not open on the new computer. It says "Photos has attempted to repair the library “Photos Library”, but is unable to open it." Then quits.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Is your Photos library online in iCloud? If so you can simply let Photos download the photos on the new computer. First open your Pictures folder and delete the Photos library. Be sure to empty the trash.

Turns out this new MacBook Air had an older operating system (10.11.1) than my old MacBook Air (10.11.4) so that was causing the problems. During the migration process the computer never prompted me to upgrade. All is well, after the upgrade the computer was able to open Photos successfully.
