MacBook 13 slow response

I've installed the latest version of El Capitan on a MB 13 medio 2010 with 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 1067 DDR3 and the original HDD.

the main app, MineCraft, is fast, but tasks like opening System Preferences are extremely slow: about one minute or more before the dialogue box opens.

Is there something I could do to get a fast response again?

Hello Hans,

Yes, you need to upgrade your memory. You need at least 4Gb and preferably more. I know Apple says 2Gb but that is borderline.

seventy one is correct, in order to run the newer OSXs, a lot of RAM is required. If you have a 2010 Macbook, it will accept up to 16 GB RAM, but 8 GB RAM should be enough for smooth operation.

If that does not solve your issue, download and post an Etrecheck report:

Ciao.
