Q: Exporting iPhoto events

If you open your iPhoto Library in Photos for Mac, all your iPhoto Events will appear as albums. And you can start from there with new imports.  The editing features in Photos are as powerful as iPhotos editing tools.

Photos has no events, but Moments instead, that are similar, but not quite the same. They are created automatically.

I have looked at trial versions of Lightroom, Photoshop Elements etc.  and can find no way of exporting my images from iPhoto events.

Exporting is simple.

File -> Export

What is it you want to do, exactly? I'm not sure what your question is.

What is it about Photos you don't like?

I don't like Photos at all which is why I am trying to migrate to different software...

I suspected that from your rigorous  insistence on events  " I don't need any complicated software: simple sorting (into events..) and basic editing is enough", but Photos has been improved a lot since it first came out.  From all basic photo software available on a Mac it fits in best with the other Apple software and it is free. I did not like it at first either, but that has changed.

open iPhoto and select all - export and choose the subfolder structure option to export with folders matching the events - Exporting From iPhoto

And elements can not access the iPhoto library and would be no help in this
