does anyone know what a folder called talagent is?

I am trying to figure out what is using the most memory on my laptop which is nearly out of memory. Which is the easiest way of doing that,. Is it Activity Monitor? When I go into that I see a folder called talagent with 74 MB memory. Does anyone know what that is?! Spotlight gives 0 answers. suggestions would be very welcome!

See the following from http://www.cultofmac.com/386726/how-to-fix-weird-talagent-keychain-issue/

Talagent is a background service that runs for every user account to let your Mac terminate apps if the system memory resources get low. Essentially, it’s something that helps your Mac feel more responsive when you’re using it, and it uses the KeyChain to authenticate.

I am not familiar with Disk Inventory X so I cannot recommend it. If you do decide to download it be aware that sites such as Softonic, Cnet, Macupdate, etc have reputations for bundling in software that you didn't ask for and which can cause problems.

I also think that you may be confusing memory and storage. Memory (as monitored in Activity Monitor for example) is used for processing while you are operating your Mac and is usually either 4 or 8GB. Storage is where your files and data are stored and would be much larger (e.g., 128GB or 256GB). An application like Disk Inventory X would be looking at storage, not memory.

The following is one set of tips that may help you free up some storage. Tip 2 of searching for large files may be especially helpful http://osxdaily.com/2016/02/06/mac-startup-disk-almost-full-message-fix/
